I know it can be difficult to follow my ramblings and, at times, challenging to visualize where each of the buildings are placed in relation to one another on the site. This past week, we were fortunate enough to have a few drone shots of the project to give you some additional context as we move forward.
Wayne has finished the pool excavation and is now proceeding to excavate the yet be discussed Poolside Villa #3, the Honeymoon Villa and the Office.
In addition to the drone shot above taken this past Wednesday, courtesy of Jimi Smith Photography, Sheraz also took his drone out and sent me these great pics.
Wayne completed the excavation of the pool early this week, and Sheraz and the crew started preparing the forming for the footings and main cistern of the pool. Here’s the side x side views of the architectural drawing and the reality.
We also had Shane Leblanc pay us a visit to discuss fine tuning the pool area and pool layout. He had some great ideas and was able to show us a 3-D model of the area which I hope to be able to provide in next week’s update. The pool area will be of award winning caliber. Like the view, it will be epic!
It was a busy week at St. John Concrete as well. For the first time in many, many years, a barge landed at the car ferry terminal in St. John.
It took a total of 98 very large dump trucks to move the 2,000 metric tons, equal to 4.4 MILLION pounds, of Montserrat sand from the barge to the site. Work continued well past dark, and was completed around 10pm.
Here’s the team unloading the barge. It was BIG!
The beginning of a massive pile of sand…
The final two mixers are on their way and hopefully our inept shipping company will actually be able to get them delivered on time. Aggregate and cement arrive on Wednesday with batch plant tuning at the end of the week. We should be making concrete very soon… We need about 190 yards to fill in all the forms we currently have in place at Picture Point.
And, for any Parks And Rec fans out there. Don’t worry… I found Little Sebastian hiding from the paparazzi and begging for carrots and apples in Coral Bay.
And what Sunday would be complete without an awesome picture of Cameron!
No offense to Patriot’s fans, but just saying…
Have a great Sunday!
