Quite a few milestones this week. Charlotte is celebrating her first Mother’s Day with baby Cameron, and we headed off to Sunday Brunch to celebrate. Some milestones were reached on the building site as well.
We’ve finished off the last structural pours for the upper 4 units as the crew pumped about 70 yards of concrete to complete the tower and viewing platform for the tower villa and finally, the walls and ceiling of Poolside Villa #1.
Here’s the pour in action!
The last structural pour remaining for the upper 4 villas was the tower and viewing platform.
Now that the steps and platform are done, we’ll begin really be kicking into overdrive as we finish up the upper 4 villas, roads and parking areas. The three week curing period for the upper 1BR ended on Thursday and Sheraz and the team finished removing the support poles for the upper 1BR villa.
This villa has a large picture window in the dining area looking over Jost Van Dyke. A little pruning of the trees, and this will be an exceptional view while enjoying a meal.
We’ve also begun framing in the interior of the upper villas. A lot will be happening in parallel now that the basic shells have been completed. Time to finish up on the top and then knock out the two lower homes, office and maintenance areas.
We also had a torrential down pour on Thursday morning and received 5″ of rain in about a 6 hour period. We know the pool holds water now as there is about 5″ in the bottom of it!
Oh, I also want you to meet the absolute best builder on the island of St. John. Bruce is a very talented guy. He’s a little camera shy, but 100% focused on quality and precision.
Again, Happy Mother’s day to all the mom’s out there!
Have a great week everyone!
